In honor of my cousin

by Alicia S.

Spc Bobby WestWhen we were young we got along well,

I felt bad when she said she heard the door bell,

Your son is dead they say to her,

She crys and says thank you sir,

She tells everyone what has happened to her son,

When we got the call she said he was done,

I got home from a spend the day,

I knew something had happened but couldn't say,

They said he died in an explosion,

Inside of me there was an erosion,

I fought back tears in my eyes,

Only imagining what she felt when her son dies,

I knew where he was it wouldn't last long,

In a war everthings gone wrong,

But I rest in peace knowing this,

He will be greatly missed!
